📚به وقت #کتاب #عصر_تباهی نخستین ثمره ی ژاندارمی منطقه خلیج فارس براساس دکترین نظامی آمریکا ، اعزام قوا به کشور عمان و جنگ ظّفار ، جهت سرکوبی شورش چریک های چپ گرای مخالف «سلطان قابوس»بود. نیروهای شاه از عهده اجرای این مأموریت مداخله جویانه و سرکوب گرانه به وجه احسن برآمدند! نخستين يگان های نظامی ايران در 29 آذر 1351 از طريق دريا و هوا رهسپار عمان شدند. اين عمليات در پايان يك سلسله مانورهای نظامی 12 روزه كه توسط پيمان نظامی «سنتو» و با شركت نيروهايي از انگلستان، آمريكا، ايران و تركيه در آبهای خليج فارس صورت گرفت، انجام شد. ارتش ايران با مساعدت اطلاعاتی ژنرال های انگليسی كه هنوز در عمان باقی مانده بودند، تا آذر 1354 تمامي ايالات آشوب زده ظفار و ازجمله شهر صلاله را به تصرف خود در آورده و آن را به ارتش عمان واگذار كرد.اين عمليات 4 ساله به دليل آنكه در منطقه ای مملو از غار، پرتگاه و دره صورت گرفت، با تلفات سنگينی براي دوطرف همراه بود اما دولت ايران هرگز ميزان تلفات خود را اعلام نكرد. تنها در روز 30 دی 1354 شاه درپاسخ به سؤال يك خبرنگار، به كشته شدن 50 تن از نظاميان ايران درجنگ ظفار اعتراف كرد. ص۶۸ According to the military doctrine of the USA, the first effect of being the gendarme of the Persian Gulf was sending army to Oman and starting the war of Zofar to repress the riots of leftist troops against (Sultan Ghabus) The army of Shah performed this .repressing process successfully. Until December 1354 the army of Iran occupied states such as Solale city and gave it to the army of Oman.
