دُعَاؤُهُ لِوُلْدِهِHis Supplication for his Children 1O God, be kind to me through the survival of my children,أللَّهُمَّ وَمُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِبَقَاءِ وُلْدِي،1 2setting them right for me, and allowing me to enjoy them!وَبِإصْلاَحِهِمْ لِي، وَبِإمْتَاعِي بِهِمْ.2 3My God, make long their lives for me,إلهِي أمْدُدْ لِي فِي أَعْمَارِهِمْ،3 4increase their terms,وَزِدْ لِي فِي آجَالِهِمْ،4 5bring up the smallest for me,وَرَبِّ لِي صَغِيرَهُمْ5 6strengthen the weakest for me,وَقَوِّ لِي ضَعِيْفَهُمْ،6 7rectify for me their bodies, their religious dedication, and their moral traits,وَأَصِحَّ لِي أَبْدَانَهُمْ وَأَدْيَانَهُمْ وَأَخْلاَقَهُمْ ،7 8make them well in their souls, their limbs,وَعَافِهِمْ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَفِي جَوَارِحِهِمْ8 9and everything that concerns me of their affair,وَفِي كُلِّ مَا عُنِيْتُ بِهِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ،9 10and pour out for me and upon my hand their provisions!وَأَدْرِرْ لِي وَعَلَى يَـدِي أَرْزَاقَهُمْ،10 11Make them pious, fearing, insightful, hearing,وَاجْعَلْهُمْ أَبْرَاراً أَتْقِيَاءَ بُصَراءَ سَامِعِينَ11 12and obedient toward Thee, loving and well-disposed toward Thy friends,مُطِيعِينَ لَكَ وَلأوْلِيَائِكَ مُحِبِّينَ مُنَاصِحِينَ،12 13and stubbornly resistant and full of hate toward all Thy enemies! Amen!وَلِجَمِيْعِ أَعْدَآئِكَ مُعَانِدِينَ وَمُبْغِضِينَ آمِينَ.13 14O God, through them strengthen my arm,أللَّهُمَّ اشْدُدْ بِهِمْ عَضُدِي،14 15straighten my burdened back, multiply my number,وَأَقِمْ بِهِمْ أَوَدِيْ، وَكَثِّرْ بِهِمْ عَدَدِي،15 16adorn my presence, keep alive my mention,وَزَيِّنْ بِهِمْ مَحْضَرِي، وَأَحْييِ بِهِمْ ذِكْرِي،16 17suffice me when I am away, help me in my needs,وَاكْفِنِي بِهِمْ فِي غَيْبَتِي وَأَعِنِّي بِهِمْ عَلَى حَاجَتِي،17 18and make them loving toward me, affectionate, approaching, upright,وَاجْعَلْهُمْ لِي مُحِبِّينَ، وَعَلَيَّ حَدِبِينَ مُقْبِلِينَ مُسْتَقِيمِينَ لِيْ،18 19obedient, never disobedient,مُطِيعِينَ غَيْرَ عَاصِينَ19 20disrespectful, opposed, or offenders!وَلاَ عَاقِّينَ وَلا مُخَالِفِينَ وَلاَ خـاطِئِينَ،20 21Help me in their upbringing, their education, and my devotion toward them,وَأَعِنِّي عَلَى تَرْبِيَتِهِمْ وَتَأدِيْبِهِمْ وَبِرِّهِمْ،21 22give me among them from Thyself male children,وَهَبْ لِيْ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ مَعَهُمْ أَوْلاداً ذُكُوراً ،22 23make that a good for me, and make them a help for me in that which I ask from Thee!وَاجْعَلْ ذَلِكَ خَيْراً لي وَاجْعَلْهُمْ لِي عَوناً عَلَى مَا سَأَلْتُكَ،23 24Give me and my progeny refuge from the accursed Satan,وَأَعِذْنِي وَذُرِّيَّتِي مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ،24 25for Thou hast created us, commanded us, and prohibited us, and made us desireفَإنَّكَ خَلَقْتَنَا وَأَمَرْتَنَا وَنَهَيْتَنَا وَرَغّبْتَنَا25 26the reward of what Thou hast commanded, and fear its punishment!فِي ثَوَابِ ما أَمَرْتَنَا وَرَهَّبْتَنَا عِقَابَهُ،26 27Thou assigned to us an enemy who schemes against us,وَجَعَلْتَ لَنَا عَدُوّاً يَكِيدُنَا،27 28gave him an authority over us in a way that Thou didst not give us authority over himسَلَّطْتَهُ مِنَّا عَلَى مَا لَمْ تُسَلِّطْنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُ،28 29allowed him to dwell in our breasts and let him run in our blood vessels;أَسْكَنْتَهُ صُدُورَنَا، وَأَجْرَيْتَهُ مَجَارِيَ دِمَائِنَا،29 30he is not heedless, though we be heedless, he does not forget, though we forget;لاَ يَغْفُلُ إنْ غَفَلْنَا، وَلاَ يَنْسَى إنْ نَسِينَا،30 31he makes us feel secure from Thy punishment and fills us with fear toward other than Thee.يُؤْمِنُنَا عِقَابَكَ، وَيَخَوِّفُنَا بِغَيْرِكَ،31 32If we are about to commit an indecency, he gives us courage to do so,إنْ هَمَمْنَا بِفَاحِشَة شَجَّعَنَا عَلَيْهَا،32 33and if we are about to perform a righteous work, he holds us back from it.وَإنْ هَمَمْنَا بِعَمَل صَالِح ثَبَّطَنَا عَنْهُ،33 34He opposes us through passions, and sets up for us doubts.يَتَعَرَّضُ لَنَا بِالشَّهَوَاتِ، وَيَنْصِبُ لَنَا بِالشَّبُهَاتِ،34 35If he promises us, he lies, and if he raises our hopes, he fails to fulfil them.إنْ وَعَدَنَا كَذَبَنَا وَإنْ مَنَّانا، أَخْلَفَنَا35

36If Thou dost not turn his trickery away from us, he will misguide us,وَإلاّ تَصْرِفْ عَنَّا كَيْدَهُ يُضِلَّنَا،36 37and if Thou dost not protect us from his corruption, he will cause us to slip.وَإلاّ تَقِنَا خَبالَهُ يَسْتَزِلَّنَا.37 38O God, so defeat his authority over us through Thy authority, such that Thou holdest him back from usأللَّهُمَّ فَاقْهَرْ سُلْطَانَهُ عَنَّا بِسُلْطَانِكَ حَتَّى تَحْبِسَهُ عَنَّا38 39through the frequency of our supplication to Thee and we leave his trickery and rise up among those preserved by Thee from sin!بِكَثْرَةِ الدُّعَاءِ لَكَ، فَنُصْبحَ مِنْ كَيْدِهِ فِي الْمَعْصُومِينَ بِكَ.39 40O God, grant me my every request, accomplish for me my needs,أللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنِي كُلَّ سُؤْلِي، وَاقْضِ لِي حَوَائِجِي،40 41withhold not from me Thy response when Thou hast made Thyself accountable for it to me,وَلاَ تَمْنَعْنِي الإجَابَةَ وَقَدْ ضَمِنْتَهَا لِي،41 42veil not my supplication from Thyself, when Thou hast commanded me to make it,وَلا تَحْجُبْ دُعَائِي عَنْكَ وَقَدْ أَمَرْتَنِي بِهِ،42 43and be kind to me through everything that will set me rightوَامْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِكُلِّ مَا يُصْلِحُنِيْ43 44in this world and the next, in everything that I remember or forget,فِيْ دُنْيَايَ وَآخِرَتِي مَا ذَكَرْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَـا نَسِيتُ،44 45display or conceal, make public or keep secret!أَوْ أَظْهَـرتُ أَوْ أَخْفَيْتُ، أَوْ أَعْلَنْتُ أَوْ أَسْرَرْتُ،45 46In all of this, place me through my asking Thee among those who set things right,وَاجْعَلْنِي فِي جَمِيعِ ذلِكَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ بِسُؤَالِي إيَّـاكَ،46 47those who are answered favourably when they request from Theeالْمُنْجِحِينَ بِالـطَّلَبِ إلَيْـكَ،47 48and from whom is not withheld when they put their trust in Thee,غَيْـرِ الْمَمْنُوعِينَ بِالتَّوَكُّلِ عَلَيْكَ،48 49those accustomed to seek refuge in Thee, those who profit through commerce with Thee, those granted sanctuary through Thy might,الْمُعَوَّدِينَ بِالتَّعَوُّذِ بِكَ، الرَّابِحِينَ فِي التِّجَارَةِ عَلَيْـكَ، الْمُجَارِيْنَ بِعِـزِّكَ،49 50those given lawful provision in plentyالْمُـوَسَّـعِ عَلَيْهِمُ الـرِّزْقُ الْحَـلاَلُ50 51from Thy boundless bounty through Thy munificence and generosity,مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْوَاسِعِ بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ،51 52those who reach exaltation after abasement through Thee, those granted sanctuary from wrong through Thy justice,الْمُعَزِّينَ مِنَ الذُّلِّ بِكَ، وَالْمُجَارِينَ مِن الظُّلْمِ بِعَدْلِكَ،52 53those released from affliction through Thy mercy, those delivered from need after poverty through Thy riches,وَالْمُعَافَيْنَ مِنَ الْبَلاءِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ، وَالْمُغْنَيْنَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ بِغِنَاكَ،53 54those preserved from sins, slips, and offenses through reverential fear toward Thee,وَالْمَعْصومِينَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَالزَّلَلِ وَالْخَطَأِ بِتَقْوَاكَ،54 55those successful in goodness, right conduct, and propriety through obeying Thee,وَالْمُوَفَّقِينَ لِلْخَيْرِ وَالرُّشْدِ وَالصَّوَابِ بِطَاعَتِكَ،55 56those walled off from sins through Thy power,وَالْمُحَالِ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الذُّنُوبِ بِقُدْرَتِكَ،56 57the refrainers from every act of disobedience toward Thee, the dwellers in Thy neighbourhood!التَّـارِكِينَ لِكُلِّ مَعْصِيَتِكَ، السَّاكِنِينَ فِي جِوَارِكَ.57 58O God, give me all of that through Thy bestowal of successأللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنَا جَمِيعَ ذلِكَ بِتَوْفِيقِكَ58 59and Thy mercy, grant us refuge from the chastisement of the burning,وَرَحْمَتِكَ وَأَعِذْنَا مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ،59 60and give to all the Muslims, male and female,وَأَعْطِ جَمِيعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَـاتِ60 61and all the faithful, male and female, the like of what I have asked for myselfوَالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ مِثْلَ الَّذِي سَأَلْتُكَ لِنَفْسِي61 62and my children, in the immediate of this world and the deferred of the next!وَلِوُلْدِي فِي عَاجِلِ الدُّنْيَا وَآجِلِ الآخِرَةِ،62 63Verily Thou art the Near, the Responder, the All-hearing, the All-knowing,إنَّكَ قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ63 64the Pardoner, the Forgiving, the Clement, the Merciful!عَفُوٌّ غَفُـورٌ رَؤُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ.64
