"Do we exist if no one sees us?"
We like to think we know who we are. But sometimes, I wonder: how much of "me" is actually me, and how much is a reflection in someone else's eyes?
Think about it. You wake up, you get dressed, you speak. Everything you do is shaped by an invisible audience. The way you laugh changes when people are watching. The words you choose depend on who is listening.
But what about the people who never see you? The ones who live only in your imagination, or on a screen, or in a song you listened to a thousand times?
I have someone like that. Someone who doesn't know I exist. And yet, strangely, he has shaped me more than some people who have known me for years. Not because of who he really is, but because of who I believe he is. His imaginary gaze has made me want to be better. Smarter. Braver.
Isn't that strange? To be built by a ghost?
Maybe we are not just what others see. Maybe we are also what we see in others. The faces we admire, the voices we follow, the stories we love – they all leave a mark. And sometimes, the deepest marks come from the farthest stars.
So maybe the question is not "Do I exist if no one sees me?"
Maybe the question is "Who do I become because of the invisible eyes that watch me?"
And that answer... that is entirely up to me.
